Since I'm a dummy and messed up the first draft of this preview, we're going with an abridged version today.
The Hawks are in Calgary, who really aren't very good at all this year. This is one that the Hawks should definitely win for this trip to be a success. Jarome Iginla is having a down year, and there has been a lot of trade speculation around him lately.
Former Hawk Rene Bourque is leading the Flames in points this season, which astonishes me. He isn't a top line talent on a decent NHL team, but the Flames aren't a decent team this year.
Miikka Kiprusoff has a save percentage of just .905 this season. If he puts up a showing like that tonight, the Hawks will have a cake walk. The Hawks have owned Kipper in the last few years so let's hope that trend continues.
That all being said, the Hawks need to put up a strong effort tonight or else they'll end up getting beat by a team that they simply out-class. Big games from Toews, Hossa, and Sharp like in Edmonton could have them sitting easy on the pine with the 4th line on the power play by the end of the game again.
Let's Go Hawks
