Who To Root For? Special Edition 3/30

There's only one game we care about tonight.  Calgary hosts Anaheim at 8:30 central time.  The Hawks are smack dab in the middle of these two teams in the standings, so its a bit confusing on what outcome gives the Hawks a shot at the best possible playoff seed.  I'll make it easy for you.  Root for Calgary.  Here's why:

 

• As long as the game ends in regulation, the Hawks will improve their chances at making the playoffs.  But honestly, that's not what we're looking at right now.  At the very worst, the Hawks chance of making the playoffs drops down to 83.7%.  Don't worry about missing the playoffs.
• The Ducks are currently one point ahead of the Hawks.  After tonight, the Hawks will have one game in hand.  That means they control their own destiny.  Win and finish ahead of the Ducks.
• The Flames are three points back of the Hawks and after tonight the Hawks will have two games in hand over them.  The odds of them catching the Hawks at this point are very slim.
• Check out the standings.  The Blackhawks can finish 6th if they finish the season strong.  They have the ability to leapfrog the Coyotes, Preds, and Ducks.  But it will take some help from Calgary tonight.
